On July 9, the Matthew Mangine Jr. “One Shot” Foundation had the opportunity to speak at the Summer Police Chiefs Meeting, bringing together law enforcement leaders from Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties. Lauren White, Director of Program Development, and Jessica Salyers, Director of Development, shared Matthew’s story and introduced the Foundation’s Take 10 program, highlighting the importance of preparing students, educators, and communities to recognize sudden cardiac arrest, begin Hands-Only CPR, and confidently use an AED before emergency responders arrive.
The meeting focused on building partnerships with local police chiefs and School Resource Officers to help bring Take 10 into school districts across Northern Kentucky. By working together, the Foundation hopes to empower SROs to serve as advocates and leaders for cardiac emergency preparedness, ensuring every school has a sustainable plan to educate students and strengthen its culture of safety. We are grateful for the warm reception and look forward to collaborating with our local law enforcement partners to help save lives.
